Salutations,
This will be my last post on this blog. I've updated this blog pretty regularly throughout my high school life, sharing my aspirations (now 7.694 steps away from being achieved plus some 10+ years of more education), my frustrations, my achievements, my joys.
Well, that phase is over. I'm going to a university, so I thought it might be good to start a new blog, me as a medical student going through... (drumroll please) ta da! The tortures of medical school, AKA doctor bullshit. Heh.
Anyway, if you want my new blog address, or interested in reading my daily tortures that will start anew mid-September, send me a message here.
Ciao, goodbye, and hopefully see you again.
Salutations,
Now that I'm officially a medical student (yey medical school), I began pondering what the hell I got myself into. Looking through books and blogs of interns and medics, their lives just seem to be crap. They rarely sleep (yuck), they knowingly eat all sorts of crap (because they don't have time), half of them are Jews and the other half are Asians and all of them are crazy, and all of them have this manic phobia of lower than 80% on a test.
Seven years of tests! Oh shit.
Not only that, most medics get up at six. SIX! Holy shit. I get up at 7:40 and that's still early for me.
I pity whoever's going to be my patient.
And since I get a year as a regular uni student, I'm lucky. If I had to go straight into med school, that would suck. "Okay! First day! Let's name this cadaver."
No, seriously. This is apparently what goes through the classrooms.
Mother's already going neurotic. As we know, Mother is bordering OC disorder (no, not the TV show). And I have a feeling I'm going to start being immune to the thought of the virus. A la example:
Mother: What did you do today?
Me: Oh, we had to go through the feces of a Dysentery patient. Where's the strawberry jam?
So, I'm going to enjoy my last summer doing absolutely nothing productive. Viva laziness.
Salutations,
It's official. I got into King's. Cleared their entry requirement. I'm outta here.
The results came in today. Called them up, paid them. In a rathe anticlimactic manner they informed me that I got 5 on all my exams. I'm not asking for fanfare, but they could have made it sound a little more dramatic. Boo.
Anyway, I'll be leaving during the second or third week of September. I'm definitely going to miss the international orientation. No point getting there early.
Now that I got in, I don't want to go back to school. Sleeping in and generally doing nothing productive really fits my lifestyle.
